Comparison

Stratos and TrendSpider

TrendSpider already lets you describe a strategy in natural language and backtest it without code. This page is the fit, with a source for every TrendSpider claim. Sources checked 30 September 2026.

Where each one fits

Use Stratos when the job is a US stock or ETF: write the rules in plain language or in the Builder, run them on historical bars, inspect the path, and paper test with virtual capital. Live brokerage execution is coming. It is not available today.

Use TrendSpider when you want the workspace they describe: natural-language or point-and-click rules, a wider set of markets including options, futures, and forex, and a Strategy Bot they say can place trades at a supported broker.

Natural-language backtesting is not unique to Stratos. This page does not rank a winner and does not publish a performance number for either product.

How you specify a strategy

Their Strategy Tester is a no-code backtester. They say you describe a strategy in natural language or build it with point-and-click menus, and that custom indicators can be written in JavaScript. Their June 2026 changelog says one natural-language prompt can build or edit an entire strategy, including entry, exit, and stop-loss, inside the Strategy Tester. That prompt was not available through Sidekick in that release.

You describe the rules in plain language and Orbit can fill the Builder, or you set the fields yourself. Builder and SmartLab modes do not require Python.

Markets they name

They say you can backtest US-listed equities from NYSE and NASDAQ, ETFs, US options via OPRA, US futures from the CME Group, cryptocurrencies, and forex.

TrendSpider Strategy Tester

US stocks and ETFs are the workflow this site describes. Major crypto pairs such as BTC/USD and ETH/USD are also available. Options, futures, and forex are not.

Product facts

Trading costs in the test

They describe a single trade-cost input, as a percentage or a flat dollar amount per trade, used to model commissions, slippage, or both.

TrendSpider Strategy Tester

Slippage and commission start at zero until you set them. Rerun the test if you want to see how those assumptions change the path.

Backtesting guide

What the result is compared with

They say the tester compares your rules with buy and hold and with a randomized control.

TrendSpider Strategy Tester

The default comparison is buy and hold. You can choose one benchmark ticker. VIX is rejected. A historical result is not a forecast.

Backtesting guide

What happens after the backtest

They say any backtested strategy can become a live Strategy Bot that places trades through a supported broker, or sends position-aware alerts.

TrendSpider Strategy Tester

You can inspect the path and paper test with virtual capital. Alerts email you once and do not submit orders. Live brokerage execution is coming. It is not available today.

Product facts

The no-code, natural-language, point-and-click, and JavaScript descriptions are on the Strategy Tester page. The single-prompt detail is in the June 2026 changelog.

How to read this

TrendSpider sentences are paraphrases of pages they published, linked in the table. Recheck those pages before relying on a detail, because their product changes. Stratos sentences match the current product facts, product, and AI backtesting pages. Pricing is omitted. A price that is wrong is worse than no price.
